They join champions Coventry in the top-flight, who finished their campaign with a 4-nil victory over Watford.
Hull beat Norwich 2-1 to secure the final place in the play-offs.

Wrexham miss out after a 2-all draw with Middlesbrough, while Derby will also spend another year in the second tier after losing 2-1 to Sheffield United.
Millwall, who were 2-nil winners against Oxford, join Boro and Southampton in the play-offs.
Southampton got past Preston 3-1.
