Kerry interest in the 2026 National Matchplay Championships ended at the semi-final stages this morning in Cork as Tralee father and daughter Tony and Charlotte Blake along with Deerpark’s David Harnett all lost their respective semi-finals.
Tony was defeated 7&6 in the Intermediate Mens semi-final with Darren Temple of St Stephens in Cork as Charlotte lost out 4&3 to Lakewood’s Theresa Venables in the Junior Ladies semi-final. Deerpark’s David Harnett staged a late rally in his Junior Mens semi-final with Aidan O’Rourke of the Cunnigar club in Dungarvan but still lost out by 3&2 in the finish.
