Chelsea have told Manchester City that they have until Friday to submit a bid for midfielder Enzo Fernandez. The Blues have informed their Premier League rivals that they will need to sepnd £120m to sign the World Cup runner-up. City, meanwhile, remain in talks with Barcelona over Rodri, who is available for £60m, and are also interested in the signing of World Cup breakout star Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille. Winger Savinho is moving closer to leaving the Etihad for Tottenham in a £65m deal though.
Mikel Arteta has said that Arsenal’s business is not done yet, with the Gunners receiving interest in Gabriel Martinelli from Galatasaray as well as Chelsea and Manchester United reportedly turning down the chance to sign Myles Lewis-Skelly. Arsenal have set their sights high and are interested in adding a marquee signing: they will have to play the long game in moves for Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez and Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola.
Barcola also leads Liverpool’s list of transfer targets and the Reds are in talks with PSG over a fee, though the European champions are demanding £145m to sell the winger. PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi did not rule out a move for Barcola, however, saying: “We’re working calmly, we don’t talk too much. I can’t say whether he will leave or not. Today, he is a PSG player. We’ll see.”

Michael Carrick admits Manchester United need more signings to compete with rivals
Michael Carrick has admitted Manchester United still need to strengthen this summer but they will not be splashing the cash on the level of their Premier League rivals.
United have so far spent around £85million on Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Karl Darlow, but after another big summer of spending elsewhere they are the only one of the Premier League’s ‘big six’ still never to have broken the £100million mark on a player.
United need to build depth ahead of a return to the Champions League, and their midfield reinforcements come after Casemiro’s exit.
“I think we’ve done really good business and we’ve got really some top, top, top players,” Carrick said at United’s pre-season training camp in the Republic of Ireland.
“We’re delighted with that. We always want to improve. We want more, we need more, we keep looking for how we can do that. That never stops.”
Cody Gakpo to remain at Liverpool if Tottenham strike Savinho deal?
With Tottenham’s talks with Manchester City over a £65m deal for Savinho moving in the right direction, is Cody Gakpo set to stay at Liverpool?

Manchester City could sell three first-team players over the coming days. Tijjani Reijnders is on the brink of joining Al Qadsiah in a £50m deal, while Tottenham are closing in on a £65m agreement to sign Savinho and Rodri has been the subject of an improved bid of £55m from Barcelona. It’s been reported that City could accept £60m for Rodri.
In turn, City are favourites to sign Morocco’s Ayyoub Bouaddi and have until this time tomorrow to submit a bid for Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez. The Blues would demand a fixed fee of £120m for the midfielder.
Aston Villa linked with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Joao Palhinha
Aston Villa impressed despite defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Super Cup last night, and Unai Emery’s side are still looking to strengthen in the transfer market.
Villa have held talks over signing right back Aaron Wan-Bissaka from West Ham, with a £25m fee discussed, according to the Athletic.
Villa are also keen on signing Joao Palhinha on loan. The midfielder spent last season at Tottenham. Florian Plettenberg reports that Bayern Munich want to sell the 31-year-old.
Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli heading to Galatasaray?
Turkish clubs have been active in the transfer window and Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli is the subject of a £38.5m bid from Galatasaray.
That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who reports that the 25-year-old Brazil winger is top of Galatasaray’s list of targets.
Arsenal have signed a winger in Christos Tzolis this summer, and they were then linked with Vinicius Jr.
The Athletic reported that Arsenal would be open to selling Martinelli if they received the right offer.
The Gunners sold Leandro Trossard to Besiktas earlier in the window, and Mikel Arteta remains interested in adding a marquee attacking player to his line-up.
Tijjani Reijnders on the brink of leaving Man City in £50m deal just a year after joining
Manchester City are in talks with Al Qadsiah to sell Tijjani Reijnders to the Saudi Arabian club.
The Netherlands international might leave the Etihad Stadium after just a year as City’s midfield overhaul to being the Enzo Maresca era looks set to continue.
Reijnders, who had also attracted interest from Nottingham Forest, could command a fee of around £50m from Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah, who are coached by former Liverpool, Leicester and Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers.
Reijnders, who cost City £46.5m when he joined from AC Milan last summer, has scored seven goals in 50 games for them.
But he lost his place in the starting XI as the 2025/26 season wore on, with former manager Pep Guardiola preferring to pair captain Bernardo Silva with Rodri.
And while Silva is gone and Rodri, who is a target for Barcelona, could follow, City have signed Elliot Anderson from Forest for £116m.
They are also interested in other midfielders, including Morocco’s Ayyoub Bouaddi and Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez, and could allow Reijnders to leave.

In other news, the Uefa-led alliance is exploring plans for the Fifa presidency to be rotated between the confederations so as to reduce the power of the office, should Gianni Infantino eventually be forced out.
The top level of the game remains locked in a civil war from the Fifa Forward Enterprise plan, that has since evolved into an attritional conflict to get the Swiss-Italian official out. As Infantino digs in, however, the Uefa and their allies have already been making plans for the future.
Mikel Arteta insists Myles Lewis-Skelly speculation ‘a good sign’
Mikel Arteta said it is a good sign if clubs are interested in signing Myles Lewis-Skelly but would not confirm whether Arsenal would consider selling the teenager.
The 19-year-old has been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea having struggled for a place in the team that won the Premier League last season.
Arsenal drew 1-1 with Serie A side Como on Wednesday, their final pre-season friendly before the campaign begins with Sunday’s Community Shield against City, with Lewis-Skelly scoring the Gunners’ goal and gesturing while celebrating in front of fans.
“It is good to score a goal, you should be emotional,” said Arteta. “He is a very emotional player, remember when he did the hand gestures (celebrating against City).
“I don’t want to talk about any speculation. If there is speculation about any of our players it is a good sign. It means what we are attracting interest and we are doing a good job.”
Spurs moving in the right direction with Savinho deal
Tottenham are moving in the right direction to get a deal done for Man City winger Savinho as they look to continue their squad overhaul under Roberto De Zerbi.
The Independent’s chief football writer Miguel Delaney understands that Spurs are getting closer to an agreement for £65m plus add-ons.
The Brazilian signed for Man City from French side Troyes for a little over £30m in the summer of 2024 and is still only 22 years old.
Spurs have already recruited Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Martin Dubravka and Cole Ramsey in a busy, expensive summer of business so far, with Chelsea the only Premier League side to spend more in this window.
