Lionel Messi has announced his retirement from international football with immediate effect.
The 39-year-old made the last of his 207 appearances for Argentina in this summer’s World Cup final defeat to Spain.
Messi scored 125 goals for his country and won the World Cup, the Copa América and the Finalissima during his international career.

He will continue at club level with Inter Miami.
