Manchester City are poised to announce the record-equalling transfer of Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea for £125m. The long-running saga finally reached a conclusion in the final hours of deadline day as City reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign the midfielder, matching the British record transfer fee Liverpool paid Newcastle United for Alexander Isak last summer. Chelsea wanted to have a replacement lined up, with Monaco’s Lamine Camara top of Xabi Alonso’s list, and the Blues have now agreed a £47m deal for the 22-year-old.
Manchester City have meanwhile announced the £60m arrival of Iliman Ndiaye while Everton are set for a busy few hours as they look to finalise deals for Folarin Balogun, Jack Grealish and Ainsley Maitland-Niles. Reports emerging from France suggest the £40m move for Monaco striker Balogun is now in doubt, however. Tottenham are set to sign Mykhailo Mudryk on loan while the story of the night concerns Malick Fofana: Crystal Palace and Sunderland are in a tug-of-war for the £30m Lyon winger.
Manchester United will not be signing a left back, and a late approach to sign Leicester teenager Louis Page has not materialised, while Liverpool’s business appears done after signing Bradley Barcola and agreeing to sign 18-year-old Belgian goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans next summer. Harvey Elliot, meanwhile, has joined Valencia on loan.
Arsenal’s pursuit of Julian Alvarez is set to conclude with the forward remaining at Atletico Madrid, who also refused to allow the Argentina international to join Barcelona. The Gunners have sold Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus and allowed Ethan Nwaneri to depart on loan but are not expected to return to the market.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Fofana’s agents have informed all parties involved that the player wants to join the Black Cats over Crystal Palace.
This comes after claims that Sunderland’s owner had flown to Lyon to get a move over the line.

Chelsea have struck a £47m deal to sign Lamine Camara from Monaco.
This could be much more than Chelsea finding their Enzo Fernandez replacement, having learned earlier tonight that Manu Kone would not leave Roma.
This could indicate that Everton’s move for Folarin Balogun is now off. Monaco needed to sell before the deadline, but it was unlikely they would sell both Camara and Balogun after the Toffees agreed a £40m deal for the USA international.

Manchester City have signed Iliman Ndiaye from Everton for £60m. The Senegal international arrives to add depth to City’s options in attack after they sold Savio and loaned Omar Marmoush to Tottenham.
Ndiaye was a target for Spurs, too, but City acted after Liverpool rebuffed an approach for Cody Gakpo, deciding it gave them too little time to find a replacement. His arrival takes City’s summer spending to almost £500m in a window when they have paid a club record £125m for Enzo Fernandez, £116m for Elliot Anderson and £85m for Ayyoub Bouaddi.
Ndiaye rejected multiple offers for a new contract from Everton, who were keen to extend his stay on Merseyside. Everton are set to announce the loan signing of Jack Grealish, who spent last season at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Ndiaye said: “City are one of the best clubs in the world and I’ve seen them win everything as I’ve grown up. To be able to write my own chapter in a story that special is the chance of a lifetime and I’m determined to grab it with both hands.
