Academy Hurling
Another great Friday night of training for our Academy players. A fantastic session with the sun setting over the pitch. There were also huge cheers from the Academy players and coaches as they supported the Parnells team in the County Junior Hurling Championship Final. Páirnéalaigh Abú!
U8 Hurling
Comhghairdeas to our fantastic Under 8 boys and girls who participated in a blitz on Saturday afternoon, hosted by Kerry GAA at the fantastic Kerry Centre of Excellence. What a great day out! A huge thank you to all the parents, players and coaches who made it such a success. Ní neart go cur le chéile!
ClubZap
We’re moving to ClubZap for all online club activities. Our Lotto and club website will also be moving over soon. Download the ClubZap app and select Parnells to keep up to date with all club activities.
Junior Camogie Championship
Great win for our Junior Ladies this evening against Cillard in Round 2 of the Kerry Championship, keeping them unbeaten in the championship so far. Thanks to Cillard for a great battle right until the final whistle. Thanks also to John Hennessy for refereeing and to Kilmoyley for the use of their pitch. We’re at home to Causeway on Friday, September 18th, in Round 3, so please come out and support this fantastic group of young ladies. Thanks again to our sponsor, Acorn Landscaping, for their continued support.
Junior Hurling Championship Final
Hard luck to our Junior Hurlers, who lost to St Brendan’s C after extra time in the County Junior Hurling Championship Final in Caherslee last night. Parnells led all the way until St Brendan’s equalised with the last puck of normal time. St Brendan’s went three points up in the first period of extra time, but Parnells brought it back to the minimum with time almost up. St Brendan’s then hit the net with the last play of the match, which put a gloss on the scoreline that wasn’t a true reflection of how close the match was. Well done to everyone involved on reaching both the League and Championship finals this season. Onwards and upwards!
Free Irish Classes
Ranganna Gaeilge – Free Irish Classes. Our Irish classes are back for another year! Starting Monday, September 14th, in the Tralee Sports Complex. Leaving Cert: 7.30–8.15pm. Beginners: 8.15–9pm. For more information, contact Marie on 087 633 8379. Open to all.
U14 Challenge Game
Great to have Na Piarsaigh of Limerick visit Caherslee this morning for a challenge game against our U14 team. There was some great hurling played by both teams and it was a brilliant opportunity for our boys to play against a team of the skill, behaviour and attitude of the Limerick lads. A special thanks to everyone who donated and helped with teas, coffees and food. We’re looking forward to a return visit to Limerick!
Community Games
HUGE congratulations to the Blennerville/Ballyard U10 Football Team! The boys achieved 3rd place in Ireland over the weekend while competing in the Community Games. Well done to the large number of Tralee Parnells players on the team, and well done to everyone involved.
