The FAI’s Director of Football John Martin says he’d prefer if their upcoming games with Israel weren’t going ahead.
Ireland are set to face Israel in the Nations League in Hungary on the 27th of September and in Serbia a week later.
Martin says the FAI felt they had to fulfil the fixtures due to potential financial sanctions and points deductions from UEFA.

He added that manager Heimir Hallgrimsson and his squad shouldn’t be blamed for playing the matches
