Garvey’s Tralee Warriors officially launched their 2026/2027 Domino’s Mens Super League season on Monday evening at Garvey’s SuperValu, Rock St.,Tralee. The event was an opportunity to introduce the new look squad ahead of the first home game of the new season when they entertain Belfast Star at the Kerry Sports Academy on Saturday with tip off at 7.45pm.
Into the Warriors roster this season come 6’1” point guard Alec Millender playing out of the University of Connecticut and 6’7” forward Jaden Daughtry playing out of Marist University, New York. 24-year old Millender played with the UConn Huskies in the NCAA last season while Daughtry also competed in the elite level college basketball competition in the US, lining out for Marist Red Foxes.
Taking their places in the Warriors squad again this season are captain Eoin Quigley, Daniel Jokubaitis, Olaf Michalczuk, Padraig Fleming, Steven Bowler, Dan Bowler, Cian O’Sullivan Keelan Crowe, Ryan Sheehy, James Friel and Jamie Burke. The Warriors squad is completed by Samson Abubakar, Liam Rahilly and Brooklyn Conway who have all stepped up from U20 level last season and Zigi Kaletka rejoins the roster after a year away.
Ten years after the establishment of the club in 2016, Garvey’s Tralee Warriors will again take their place in the Domino’s Mens Super League with Gareth Moore taking the reins as Head Coach after serving as assistant to both Pat Price and John Dowling. He brings former Warrior Super League winning captain Darren O’Sullivan on board as his Assistant Coach. The team will be managed again this season by Anne Connolly with Valerie Behan as Physical Therapist.
The Uniquely Tralee Warriors Women move up from the BIDL League to take on the challenge of National League Division One basketball for the first time this season. Australian pro player Amy Cotton comes in to add her experience to the BIDL development squad that came together over the last two seasons. Senior players Holly O’Brien, Meabh Barry, Niamh Ní Chonchúir and Lucy O’Donnell are joined by U20 players Mary Kate Smith, Kelly Fitzgerald, Priya O’Donovan, Muireann Teahan, Emily Flynn, Orla O’Mahoney and Anna O’Sullivan while Gracie O’Sullivan, Aimee Turner, Lauren Lawlor, Abby Crowley, Lili Mae Bowler and Evie O’Sullivan round out the squad with some great talent and potential from the U18 ranks. Tomás O’Hanlon assumes the role of Head Coach with Linda Raymond and Mike Broderick joining him as Assistant Coaches.
The Warriors Men’s U20s will again compete at National League level with Carolyn O’Mahony taking charge of the side for this season. Senior players Ryan Sheehy, Samson Abubakar and Liam Rahilly will lead the line this season with Seán Cantwell, Brayden Pierce, Kiefer Yiadom, Paddy Lucid, Evan Cashell-Lowe, Rodhan Culloo, Brooklyn Conway, Fionn Brosnan, Oisin Brosnan, Johnny Dawson, David Watson and Ryan Hand completing a talented squad of player that have been around the U20 panel for the last few seasons.
All three Warriors teams open their respective campaigns at home in what promises to be an exciting weekend of basketball in Tralee. In Domino’s Mens Super League, Garvey’s Tralee Warriors take on keen rivals Belfast Star at the Kerry Sports Academy on Saturday 3rd October with tip off at 7.45pm. As part of a season opening night double header, the Uniquely Tralee Warriors take to the court for the first time at National League level when they face Abbey Seals Dublin Lions at the Kerry Sports Academy with tip off at 5.30pm. Ahead of that, Garvey’s Tralee Warriors Mens U20s get their League campaign underway when they welcome UCC Demons to Moyderwell Gym in Tralee on Friday 2nd October with tip off at 8.00pm.
