Munster have beaten Racing by 33 points to 25 in their opening pool game in rugby’s Investec Champions Cup.

Brian Gleeson and Shay McCarthy scored first-half tries to help Clayton McMillan’s team build a 14-6 lead at the break at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

Fineen Wycherly, Craig Casey and captain Tadhg Beirne added tries in the second-half to seal the win.

Ciaran Frawley scored two tries on his home debut as Connacht won a thriller 45-36 against Saracens at Dexcom Stadium.

Last year’s beaten finalists Leinster demolished Clermont in the second-half to win 48-23 in France.

Dan Sheehan scored two of their tries, with a shoulder injury to Jack Conan the only blemish from that victory.

Leinster back-row Jack Conan is a doubt for their inter-pro derby with Munster next weekend.

Conan went off with a shoulder injury after scoring a try in the URC champions’ 48-23 win at Clermont yesterday.

Leinster head coach Leo Cullen admits it “didn’t look great” and that Conan could be facing a spell on the sidelines.
