The FAI have confirmed that the aligned calendar will not go ahead as planned.
The Association’s former Chief Football Officer Marc Canham launched the plan in 2024, where it was stressed that all leagues and competitions in the country should be aligned.
However, opposition to the plan led to the FAI Board’s confirmation that it “will not be considered a deliverable within the football pathways plan or the FAI’s current 2026 – 2029 strategic plan.”
