Mark English set a new Irish record in the 1000-metres at the Golden Spike meeting in the Czech city of Ostrava last night.
The Donegal runner finished sixth in a time of 2-minutes, 15-point-8-2 seconds.
Sharlene Mawdsley earned a third-place finish in the 400-metres, finishing just point-1-1 of a second off her personal best.
