FIFA appears to have ruled out the possibility of Iran switching their World Cup matches to Mexico.
President of the Iranian football federation, Mehdi Taj, said his organisation was “negotiating” with the governing body to move the games away from the United States, amid American and Israeli air strikes on Iran.
But FIFA says it is “looking forward” to teams competing in line with the original match schedule.
