Garvey’s Tralee Warriors are delighted to announce that the club’s Women’s team will compete in the National League Division One competition for the 2026/27 season.

The move marks an exciting new chapter for the team and the club following two successful years playing in the Basketball Ireland Development League, getting to the Plate Final in their first year and the quarter finals of the competition last season, establishing a strong foundation for participation in the national competition.

Garvey’s Tralee Warriors will be coached by Tomás O’Hanlon, who led Tralee Magic to the 2024/25 U20 Women’s National Cup title. He has coached both Moyderwell and Mercy Mounthawk to All-Ireland Schools titles as well as coaching with Irish underage teams.

The club is excited to provide a pathway for female players to compete at a higher level and looks forward to seeing the Women’s team perform on the national stage in the season ahead.

Garvey’s Tralee Warriors Club Chairman, Terry O’Brien welcomed the news, “we are delighted that our Women’s team will step up to playing National League Division One basketball in the coming season. After two seasons playing in the BIDL League, the team has developed and grown and is now ready to face the challenge of playing at National League level.”

Further details on fixtures, player announcements and season preparations will be released in the coming weeks.
