Irish Swimmers In Finals Tonight At European Aquatics Championships

Ellen Walshe is through to tonight’s women’s 400 metres individual medley final at the European Aquatics Championships.

The Templeogue swimmer came second in her heat in Paris this morning.

Jack Kelly finished third in his heat in the men’s 200 metres breaststroke and progresses to tonight’s semi-finals, along with Eoin Corby.

Danielle Hill also advanced to the women’s 50 metres backstroke semi-finals after finishing fourth in her heat.

Three more Irish swimmers are in medal races this evening.

19-year-old John Shortt goes in the men’s 200 metres backstroke final at 5.40pm Irish time.

Mona McSharry was second-fastest in qualifying for the women’s 100 metres breaststroke final, which gets underway just before 6pm.

Reigning Olympic champion Daniel Wiffen is in the men’s 800 metres freestyle final just after 7pm.
