Katie Taylor’s farewell professional fight looks set to take place at Croke Park.
Official confirmation is expected this Friday, with Matchroom Boxing arranging a press event at the Jones’s Road venue.
Taylor’s promoter Eddie Hearn previously indicated that Saturday, September 5th was the proposed date for the bout, provided talks were completed successfully.
A fight at Croke Park has long been one of Taylor’s major career ambitions, and the Bray boxer has made it clear that her final professional appearance would be in Dublin only if it could take place at the GAA’s headquarters.
An opponent has not yet been confirmed.
Taylor has already headlined major venues including Madison Square Garden and London’s Excel Arena, but a final fight in front of a packed Croke Park crowd would represent a landmark moment for Irish boxing.
