Kerry GAA Stars Launch Killarney Races May Festival

Kerry GAA stars were on hand this week to officially launch the Killarney Races May Festival, as excitement builds ahead of the three-day event next month.

Live racing returns to one of Ireland’s most scenic venues on Saturday, May 9th, with a 12 noon start. The opening day coincides with Munster Football Final weekend, with the possibility of a Kerry versus Cork decider in Killarney adding to what promises to be a huge sporting occasion in the town.

The opening card features top-class National Hunt racing, alongside live entertainment to kick-start the festival atmosphere.

Attention then turns to the Locals’ Family Day on Monday, May 11th from 4:30pm. Sponsored by Killarney Credit Union and the Killarney Town Retailers Association, the evening is aimed at the local community, with free entry for children accompanied by an adult and a wide range of family entertainment including games, music and activities.

The festival concludes on Tuesday, May 12th with the Fexco Festival Finale, combining quality flat racing with live entertainment.

Killarney Racecourse General Manager Karl McCay says they’re looking forward to welcoming crowds back for what promises to be another standout festival.
