Kerry knock Shels out of Cup

Kerry FC have knocked Premier Division side Shelbourne out of the Club Orange FAI Cup.

The Kingdom were victorious 6-5 on penalties after a 2 all draw in the Round 2 tie.

The draw for Round 3 is to take place on Tuesday evening.

At Richmond Park, St Pat’s booked their place in the next round with a 2-1 victory over Wexford.

Elsewhere, Drogheda eliminated Lucan United, Dundalk defeated St Mochta’s, Waterford got the better of Cobh Ramblers and Athlone Town eased past Midleton.

The second round of the FAI Cup continues this afternoon.

There are five games down for decision, with the standout tie coming between Janesboro and Sligo Rovers at half-past-four.
