Manchester City target Brazilian winger as Savinho replacement

Manchester City are interested in Brazilian winger Allan as they look for a replacement for Savinho.

The Palmeiras player has a €100m release clause in his contract, though City could look to secure him for a lower fee.

They have begun their search for further forwards as they are in talks with Tottenham to sell Savinho and Omar Marmoush in a double deal that could bring them in well over £100m.

Savinho, who could be priced at up to £85m, nevertheless ended last season as City’s second-choice right winger after the January signing of Antoine Semenyo.

City have already signed one winger this summer, in Jeremy Monga, though it remains to be seen if the 17-year-old is involved much this season.

Marmoush and Savinho both made 36 appearances in all competitions last season, even if they became squad players.

Allan has scored six goals in 95 games for Palmeiras, though he is yet to break into the Brazil national team.

City have spent £130m this summer, including the £116m club record buy of Elliot Anderson, and brought in around £150m, even before the potential departures of Marmoush and Savinho.

However, they also face the prospect of spending heavily to replace the departed Rodri and Tijjani Reijnders in midfield, with Ayyoub Bouaddi and Enzo Fernandez among their targets, and could look to use the funds from selling Marmoush and Savinho to help do that.
