Six people were arrested during England’s 4-2 World Cup win against Croatia, with one arrest made for criminal trespass, police have confirmed.

Arlington Police Department reported that officers also responded to two separate fight incidents inside the AT&T Stadium on Wednesday, though neither resulted in any arrests.

Among those taken into custody at the stadium, three faced charges for drugs offences, one for public intoxication, and another for trademark counterfeiting involving goods valued between £1,889 and £22,679.

The force clarified that none of the arrested individuals were British nationals.

Meanwhile, at the nearby Texas Live sports bar, England supporters turned out in significant numbers, consuming a staggering 45,349 pints of beer.

Staff at the venue noted that the attendance surpassed what they would typically expect for a Dallas Cowboys playoff game, highlighting the fervent atmosphere surrounding the World Cup fixture.

Police said stadium staff usually deal with “unruly” spectators before requesting assistance from officers, adding that security staff often resolve incidents without police intervention.

Drones were used to monitor crowds and some officers made their way around the stadium’s perimeter on Segways hours before kick off.

The arrest for criminal trespass came after eyewitnesses claimed scores of fans breached security and entered the venue without checks.

Fifa said it was unaware of any supporters entering the stadium without tickets.

Tailgating at football matches in the UK is now a criminal offence following thousands of ticketless fans storming Wembley ahead of the Euro 2020 final.

Lives were put at risk when supporters broke into Wembley Stadium, a subsequent review by Baroness Louise Casey found.

England fans were in a jubilant mood on Wednesday after the statement victory – with a brace from captain Harry Kane and goals from Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford sealing the win.

Fans at Texas Live jumped in a water fountain at the end of the game after enduring scorching temperatures throughout the afternoon.

The sold-out venue saw fans ride a mechanical bull and chant in numbers as they watched the match – with more than half a tonne of smoked meat bought by fans.

More than 14 million people tuned in to watch the game on ITV, with the match also securing the highest peak audience of the year, with some 15.4 million viewers, the broadcaster said.

Sir David Beckham hailed the “great performance” and praised the “togetherness” of Thomas Tuchel’s side.

In nearby Dallas, one pub which sold 5,000 beers to Three Lions supporters on the eve of the team’s World Cup opener was forced to close following what the venue described as “the mayhem that descended on us”.

Footage on social media showed the Londoner Pub again crowded with England supporters and the venue said its sales did not account for the “destruction of our property and landscaping”.
