Crowds booed South Korea’s World Cup team as they returned to Seoul on Tuesday (30 June) following their early exit from the tournament.
Hong Myung-bo’s squad was knocked out in the group stage after losing to both the host nation, Mexico, and South Africa, despite a promising 2-1 win against Czechia.
After landing at Incheon Airport, the team and coach were met with a hostile reception.
Fans shouted “Hong Myung-bo, get out!” and “take responsibility”, while one held up a banner that read: “Korean Football Is Dead,” Yonhap News reported.
