Every country has now named their 26-man squads for World Cup 2026 in the United States, Canada and Mexico this summer.
With 48 teams involved in the tournament, which starts on 11 June, there will be more players than ever accomplishing their goal of appearing in football’s most famous competition.
Each country provided Fifa with a final squad of between 23 and 26 players (at least three of whom must be goalkeepers) by the deadline of 2 June, and a subsequently injured player may now only be replaced by someone from a previously-submitted 55-man preliminary squad, up to 24 hours before the team’s first World Cup match.
Squads were announced throughout May and early June, with plenty of debate surrounding the final selection. Thomas Tuchel named his 26-man England group but left the likes of Cole Palmer and Phil Foden at home, while the squads for other big-hitters such as Brazil, Spain, France and Argentina also contained plenty of talking points.
Here are all the World Cup 2026 squads and every player who will be at this summer’s tournament:
Guillermo Ochoa joins Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the first players to be selected for a sixth World Cup, with the 40-year-old AEL Limassol goalkeeper chosen by Mexico coach Javier Aguirre but unlikely to get much playing time. Midfielder Edson Alvarez, who spent last season on loan at Fenerbahce from West Ham, will captain the side, with Fulham striker Raul Jimenez headlining the forward options and 17-year-old Tijuana wonderkid Gilberto Mora set to become the youngest player to represent Mexico at a World Cup.

German-born defender Jens Castrop of Borussia Monchengladbach, who has a Korean mother, also becomes the first player with dual heritage to make a South Korea World Cup squad.

Bosnia, who beat Wales in the playoffs en route to qualifying for just the second World Cup in their history, became the first side to name their squad on 11 May, with 40-year-old Edin Dzeko the headline inclusion. Roger Milla for Cameroon in 1994 is the only previous outfield player in his 40s to have appeared at a World Cup but former Man City striker Dzeko is set to be added to that exclusive club. Hull midfielder Amir Hadziahmetovic is the only English-based player in the 26-man group.
Goalkeeper Osman Hadzikic withdrew injured after the squad was named and was replaced by 18-year-old Mladen Jurkas.

Craig Gordon is one of the goalkeeping options at the age of 43, while Ben Gannon-Doak has recovered from injury sufficiently to be included and teenage winger Findlay Curtis also gets the nod but Udinese midfielder Lennon Miller misses out.

Depay, his nation’s leading international goalscorer, has played sparingly for Corinthians of late, while Timber missed most of the Premier League run-in as Arsenal secured the title. There were few surprises in the Sweden squad named by Graham Potter, with Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski omitted as expected after a year out of the game with a knee injury. Arsenal’s Viktor Gyokeres and Liverpool’s Alexander Isak give Potter plenty of firepower up front, with the former Chelsea and West Ham manager hopeful that the latter can find form. “Our challenge is to get Alex in the best moment of the season and for him to hit top form,” Potter said. “Because if he does, he’s a world-class player.”
Juventus loanee Emil Holm unfortunately picked up an injury after the squad was named and FC Dallas defender Herman Johansson was named as a replacement.

Prolific striker Sardar Azmoun, who has 57 goals in 91 caps, was controversially excluded from Iran’s World Cup squad by coach coach Amir Ghalenoei despite a public plea for his return from Iran’s vice president Abdolkarim Hosseinzadeh. The Shabab Al-Ahli player had been left out of the national team in March, with local media reports suggesting he had been expelled for a perceived act of disloyalty to the government. Olympiacos star Mehdi Taremi will lead the attack instead, while ex-Brighton midfielder Alireza Jahanbakhsh will be another key man as they try to advance beyond the group stage for the first time. Ageless wonder Luka Modric is set to play at his fifth World Cup, with the 40-year-old selected to captain Croatia. Roger Milla for Cameroon in 1994 is the only previous outfield player in his 40s to have appeared at a World Cup but AC Milan star Modric is set to be added to that exclusive club. Up front, the injury-plagued Bruno Petkovic and the Croatian league’s top scorer Dion Drena Beljo both miss out with the likes of Osasuna veteran Ante Budimir, Dallas star Petar Musa and Freiburg youngster Igor Matanovic preferred instead.

The well-travelled Carlos Queiroz has named his Ghana squad for the World Cup, with no place for Tottenham’s Mohammed Kudus after his season-ending injury in a major blow. Much, then, will be expected of Antoine Semenyo and Inaki Williams to provide the forward thrust alongside captain Jordan Ayew. Coventry’s Brandon Thomas-Asante, talented Leicester playmaker Abdul Fatawu and goalkeeper Joseph Anang of League of Ireland Premier Division side St Patrick’s Athletic also make the cut. Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey, now of Villarreal, is also controversially included. Partey has pleaded not guilty to seven charges of rape and one count of sexual assault relating to allegations by four different women between 2020 and 2022 and is due to stand trial next year.
Centre-back Alexander Djiku was ruled out, having been named in the preliminary squad, after suffering a hamstring injury as his Spartak Moscow team won the Russian Cup final on 24 May so has been replaced by Netherlands-born defender Derrick Luckassen, who made his Ghana debut in March.

Midfielder Adalberto Carrasquilla has shaken off an injury scare to earn inclusion in Panama’s squad for the World Cup. Anibal Godoy will captain the side 16 years on from his international debut having won more than 150 caps, while Alberto Quintero is set for an overdue tournament bow having been denied eight years ago by a cruelly-timed injury in a warm-up friendly. Norwich City defender Jose Cordoba is the only English-based player, while the 26-man group is drawn from 23 different clubs around the world.
