It’s a busy end to the transfer window with Tuesday’s deadline fast approaching and some of the biggest clubs and players are poised to move.

Cody Gakpo is set to leave Liverpool and join Manchester City in a shock move after Bradley Barcola’s £120m move from Paris Saint-Germainwas agreed. If Gakpo departs, the Reds could sign another winger, with previous interest in Ismaila Sarr from Crystal Palace having moved on from Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh.

Atletico Madrid remain steadfast on keeping Julian Alvarez or moving him to a club that is not Barcelona, with Arsenal’s hopes quickly fading.

While Manchester City remain in talks to sign Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea, who have been busy this weekend after signing Emiliano Martinez, who makes his debut against Brighton after a £7.5m deal from Aston Villa. If Fernandez does leave, Chelsea could sign a new midfielder, with previous interest in Bournemouth’s Alex Scott.

Coventry confirm 11th signing of summer

Coventry City have made teenage defender Stephen Mfuni their 11th signing of the summer with the 18-year-old joining from Manchester City on a season-long loan.

Mfuni spent a portion of last season on loan at Watford.

Folarin Balogun has been linked with a move to Everton, according to ESPN, but it is dependent upon the Toffees being able to offload several fringe players to fund a move.

Barcelona to sign Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus

Barcelona are closing in on a deal to sign Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus, reports Fabrizio Romano.

A medical has been booked for the Brazilian, who is out of favour under Mikel Arteta and behind Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz.

A €10m package plus add-ons for a permanent deal has now been agreed.

Fernandez absent again

Xabi Alonso has said Chelsea “need a team that is focused” while explaining why Enzo Fernandez is not involved against Brighton today. The Argentina midfielder continues to be linked with a switch to Manchester City before the window closes on Tuesday.

Alonso told Sky: “We assess what’s best for the team and considering everything, the situation, we need a team that is focused, with everyone involved that’s fully committed and engaged with the game.”

Hull City may have to be patient to acquire Robinio Vaz, who is the subject of talks between Roma and the Tigers, according to The Athletic.

A season-long loan for a fee of €2m, with a €30m option to buy, has been negotiated.

West Ham in talks over £18m deal for Viking winger

West Ham are in talks to sign Viking winger Edvin Austbo, as per The Athletic.

The 21-year-old has scored 15 goals across 71 appearances and a deal in the region of £18m is being discussed.

Austbo has also graduated through the age groups to represent Norway.

The 23-year-old Argentine midfielder could bolster Alvaro Arbeloa’s squad after a two-year spell in the Eternal City.

With 11 goals across two seasons for Roma, the Whites should have a new option down the right.
