FIFA president Gianni Infantino says plans to sell off stakes in its football competitions – including the World Cup – is “an opportunity but not an obligation”.
UEFA nations will attend an emergency meeting today after the proposal caused much opposition.
The FAI is yet to release a statement on the plans.
