Liverpool will face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup in the most blockbuster tie of the fourth round while Premier League champions Arsenal are set for a trip to League Two’s Fleetwood Town.
Fleetwood progressed to the fourth round following a 1-0 victory over Sheffield United on Wednesday evening when Rhys Norrington-Davies scored a disastrous own goal and now have a premium tie against the Gunners to look forward to after a draw which set up some cracking fixtures.
Liverpool welcoming Chelsea, now managed by Reds legend Xabi Alonso, to Anfield is the pick of the ties, with both sides surely targeting the Carabao Cup as a realistic trophy this season.
Everton will take on Newcastle in another exciting all-Premier League clash after the Toffees recorded a 1-0 victory over Championship side Wolves on Wednesday, with Andy Burnham and Canadian prime minister Mark Carney – both of whom are Everton fans – in attendance at the Hill Dickinson Stadium following a bilateral meeting.

Charly Alcaraz’s 80th-minute goal ensured the two leaders would head home happy, while another last-16 clash will see Fulham battle it out against London rivals Crystal Palace.
Bournemouth will host Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, who are still searching for their best form but were boosted by a 3-1 win over Coventry in the third round, and Sunderland take on Brentford.
There will be a League One side in the quarter-finals after the two remaining third-tier outfits, Bradford City and Peterborough United, drew each other in round four.
And finally, Brighton – who came from two goals down to hand Manchester United a historic loss at Old Trafford – could be set for a return to Manchester to take on Man City but only if they defeat Norwich in the final third round fixture on Thursday evening.
