A festival of golf this weekend, with Philip Duggan winning Captain Paul’s Prize in Sunday evening’s playoff with some superb golf. Three under gross for the first 18, followed by a clinical 8 hole playoff performance to take the big prize by 2. John Duggan was second, with Mark O’Donovan taking the best gross prize. Mary D O’Sullivan was the ladies winner on Saturday, with a brilliant 44 points.

Dr Crokes Golf Classic
The annual Dr Crokes GAA Club golf classic which was played over two days on Killarney’s Mahony’s Point course was another huge success attracting an impressive 64 teams. The prize giving function took place in Charlie Foley’s Bar on Friday night where sponsor Colm Foley presented the prizes.
The winning team was The Dromhall Hotel led by John Brosnan 5, Mike Dwyer 12 , Shane Kelly 17 and Ger O’Meara 20 followed by The O’Carroll Engineering team of Anthony O’Mahony, John O’Driscoll, Derek McAllister and Michael O’Sullivan in second place.
In third place was The Quills team of Vincent Casey, Colm and Evy O’Brien and Donie Buckley followed by the Diarmuid O’Carroll Electrical team of Mark O’Carroll, Brian McCarthy, Ben Kelliher and Luke O’Shea in fourth place. In fifth place was the Fexco team of Andrew McCarthy, Ivo O’Sullivan, Ross Brosnan and Niall O’Shea and in sixth place was The Money Maximising Advisors team with John and Michael Lenihan, Des McCarthy and Peter Bellew. The Gleneagle Hotel team of Patrick O’Donoghue, Mike McAuliffe, Margaret Gill and T Buckley finished in seventh place.
