Man United target Ederson makes decision over Atalanta future after transfer stalls

Ederson has signed a new contract at Atalanta after the breakdown of his move to Manchester United.

United had agreed a £35m fee with the Serie A club and personal terms with the midfielder.

But they pulled out of the deal for the Brazil international when a medical after the World Cup revealed concerns about his knee.

While United had not ruled out going back for Ederson and looking to renegotiate a different fee with Atalanta, the 27-year-old, who had entered the last year of his contract in Bergamo, has instead extended his stay there.

United have signed two other central midfielders, in Andrey Santos from Chelsea for £48m and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa for £35m, and could look to add a third this summer.
