Sir Kevin Sinfield arrived at the Accu Stadium to a standing ovation after he completed day four of his final 7in7 challenge to raise money for motor neurone disease charities.

Sinfield is running in his seventh and final ultra-running effort, which will see him visit all 12 English Super League grounds before finishing and presenting the match ball at Old Trafford ahead of Saturday’s Grand Final between Warrington and Wakefield.

The 46-year-old began his fourth day at the DIY Kitchens Stadium in Wakefield and gave his son and Trinity scrum-half, Jack Sinfield, a hug before beginning his route towards Middleton Grove.

Sinfield then completed an emotional return to Headingley – the home of his former club Leeds – where he received a rapturous reception from crowds before passing Bradford’s Odsal Stadium and then finished his fourth day at Huddersfield.

As Sinfield made his way from Leeds to Pudsey, he was also joined by Micah Richards who offered his support by cycling alongside the running group.

Fans were waiting inside the Accu Stadium to give Sinfield a warm welcome and cheer him over the finish line.

Speaking to supporters, Sinfield said: “I’ve had a wonderful day, stopped at some amazing clubs and just had the best reception.

“The whole message across the group the last four days has been around trying to raise money across the MND community by running.

“But running isn’t the important bit. The important bit is this where people come together, pull the community together that care and want to show the support.”

Sinfield has raised more than £11million for the MND community since his first annual challenge in 2020, inspired by former team-mate Rob Burrow, who died in 2024 after living with MND for four and a half years.

By the end of the fourth day of his latest challenge, Sinfield had raised £781,402 and surpassed his target of £777,777 with three days still to go for Motor Neurone Disease Association, Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, MND Scotland, Leeds Hospitals Charity and The Darby Rimmer MND Foundation.
