Tralee Parnells GAA Club Notes
Junior Camogie
Tralee Parnells Junior Camogie team, with a squad of twelve players headed to the Clare GAA Centre of Excellence last Saturday morning to participate in the Munster Junior B 7’s Blitz. We had four round games against Ballina (Tipperary), Wolfe Tones na Sionna (Clare), Millstreet (Cork) and our neighbours Causeway. With three wins from four games, we progressed to the Cup Semi-Final where we faced Castlemartyr (Cork). With the semi-final win secured, we faced Wolfe Tones na Sionna once again in the Cup Final. Having lost to them in the round games, we knew we were going to be up against it. But this only brought out the very best in this outstanding group of young ladies. They dug deep, supported one another and battled through tired bodies and tired legs to come out worthy champions — Munster Junior B 7’s Champions!
A very special mention to our youngest squad member, Sarah Chute, who was deservedly awarded Player of the Tournament.
A huge well done to all the teams we competed against in our group. We had some fantastic gamesand it was brilliant to meet new clubs from different counties. This competition was a fantastic opportunity for our club to step outside Kerry, experience playing against new opposition and showcase Tralee Parnellson the Munster stage.
A huge thank you to Munster Camogie for organising such a fantastic tournament. We know how much work goes into organising days like this, and it certainly does not go unappreciated. A special mention to Lauren, Gillian, Caroline and Eleanor of Munster Camogie for running such a brilliant competition and creating such an enjoyable day for everyone. We would also like to thank everyone who helped make the day so successful and memorable.
And finally, well done to every single one of our players. It was fantastic to see everyone back playing competitive camogie, working together and representing Tralee Parnells with such pride. The challenge now is to keep the momentum going! We look forward to getting all our players back together over the coming weeks as we prepare for the Kerry Junior Championship. New players are always welcome at Tralee Parnells!
Senior Camogie – New Players Welcome
Our Senior Camogie team is currently recruiting new players. All levels are welcome—whether you’re experienced or trying camogie for the first time. It’s a great opportunity to get involved, stay active, and be part of a fantastic team environment.

U14 Hurling
Hard luck to our U14 boys who were defeated by Ballyduff in the Division 1 County Final last Friday evening. While the result didn’t go our way, we are incredibly proud of the attitude, determination, and skill shown by every player. The group continues to improve week by week, both individually and collectively. Keep up the great work, lads.
U11 Hurling
Our U11s enjoyed a fantastic day out at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork on Thursday. They faced off against Clyda Rovers/Whitechurch (Cork) and Mount Sion (Waterford) in what was a brilliant experience for all involved. Excitement built throughout the week, and the day did not disappoint—fun on the bus, plenty of singing, the thrill of playing on a famous pitch, a stadium tour, and even a McDonald’s stop on the way home!
A huge thank you to KOS Transport Ballyheigue for sponsoring the bus—your support is greatly appreciated. Thanks also to Kieran and Maura. Well done to all the players—you are a credit to the club. Many thanks to the Parnells club for hosting, and to all the parents and coaches for making the day so special.
Kerry Academy Squads
Congratulations to the Kerry U15 hurlers on their impressive win over Kilkenny (6-12 to 3-7) last weekend. They now look ahead to an All-Ireland semi-final on Saturday, 15th August. A special mention to our club representatives: Robaird Foley and Conor Reidy (panel), along with Andrew Morrissey and Ronan Gilsenan (selectors). Well done to all involved.
U10 Hurling
On a beautiful evening for hurling, our U10s put in a strong performance against Rathmore on Wednesday. It was a hard-fought game, with all players showing great skill and determination. Keep up the excellent work. Thanks to all parents and coaches for your continued support.
Junior Hurling
Our Juniors play their long delayed Co League Division 3 final vs St Brendan’s C next Friday night, time and venue to be confirmed. Keep an eye out for details of the fixture and all support welcome. Training continues on Tuesday nights in Caherslee. We also await details of the Junior Hurling Championship which should be played off during August.
Kerry Co. Final
Congratulations to our neighbours Abbeydorney on achieving a 3—in-a-row of Kerry Senior County Championships with a great victory against St Brendan’s last Sunday. We wish them well in their Munster Intermediate campaign in the Autumn.
All-Ireland Minor B Football Champions
Huge congratulations to our Tralee Parnells dual players who helped secure victory over Tyrone in a thrilling All-Ireland Minor B Football Final after extra time (1-12 to 1-10).
Special mention to Jamie Lee O’Connor, who delivered a crucial moment—scoring her first point of the championship and one of the decisive scores of the game. A fantastic achievement!
