Zinedine Zidane has been confirmed as the new manager of France.
The 54-year-old succeeds Didier Deschamps, who stepped down after this summer’s World Cup.
Winning the World Cup as a player in 1998, Zidane most recently managed Real Madrid, where he won three Champions League and two La Liga titles.

He, alongside advisor Leonardo, is believed to have quit after the national team decided against appointing Andrea Pirlo due to concerns about his links to a Russian gambling firm.
Mancini was at the helm when Italy became European champions in 2021.
