Tralee Parnells weekly notes

U21 hurling championship
Well done to our U21 hurling team, who were victorious over Kilmoyley on Sunday morning last in the preliminary quarter-final of the Ask Acon U21 County Hurling Championship. The sides were still level at 0-17 apiece after the conclusion of normal time, so extra time was played. Both sides exchanged goals during this period and, after another twenty minutes, the sides still could not be separated, with the score at 1-21 each. A result on the day was necessary, and the match therefore headed for penalties. After a nerve-wracking few minutes for both sides, thankfully our boys came out on the right side of the contest. Many thanks to Kilmoyley for such a sporting game and for putting it up to us right down to the wire. Also, thanks to Mike Sexton for refereeing the match. Next up for our boys is an away quarter-final against East Kerry on Sunday, the 11th of October, at 12pm, with the venue to be confirmed.

ASPEN GROVE JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINAL
A fantastic night of camogie under the floodlights at Caherslee on Friday as our Ladies faced a tough and physical contest against Killarney/Sliabh Luchra. Another outstanding team performance saw our players deliver a dominant display from start to finish to secure a strong victory and book our place in the Championship Cup Final. Credit to Killarney/Sliabh Luchra, who gave us a great game and battled right until the final whistle. Many thanks to Donnacha Buttimer for refereeing and to Joe Wallace for looking after us so well, as always, at Caherslee. Thanks also to our jersey sponsors, Acorn Landscaping. It was fantastic to see such brilliant support on Friday night, and now we need everyone behind us for the final. Championship Cup Final, Friday, October 9th, Abbeydorney, 8pm. Tralee Parnells v Cillard. Come along, bring the flags and get behind the girls as we go in search of the Junior Championship title. Parnells Abú!
U14 camogie
Defeat for Our U14 Camogie Team in Division 2 Final
Our U14 camogie team suffered defeat to a strong Killarney side in the Division 2 Final yesterday in Dromakee.
Having beaten the same opposition earlier in the competition our girls went into the game full of confidence. However Killarney produced an excellent performance on the day and were worthy winners of the title.
Credit to our girls who battled bravely from start to finish and never gave up. While the result didn’t go our way they can be very proud of their efforts.
A sincere thank you to everyone who came out to support the team.
Well done girls and congratulations to Killarney on their victory
